Only if u get on early on the Exx or CRA, and have overhead for carryon. If you don't, expect no symapthy from FA, and gate check is the most likely, even for non gate checkable items. Was on flt recently on E90 where pax 12A-C took bins on both sides, At baggage claime, they also had way over their limit, so they paid for some, and inconvenienced 6 other pax.
