Just curious, if you are starting at 0, I am assuming you have not done much UA flying. While I can appreciate you now have the time and finances.....
Why do you want to earn it in such a short time? 300,000 EQM is very highly elite in and of itself (think GS). Spread that over 10 years, and you'll hit the 3MM, without such a significant short term cash outlay.
Furthermore, why do you want the status? IMhO, You might be better off buying F (rather then Business) outright, and saving the time and effort (also FWIW, UA treats a paid F customer with just as much "extra" as they do a 3MM on a upgraded fare.
Kind of think of it as: You are looking to run for President of the USA, but have never even been involved in student government.
