A r/t ticket might look better since presumably you fly into HEL on a JFK-HEL-JFK r/t ticket anyway.
Also, it may be worthwhile checking when is your next intercontinental flight departing since AY6 from JFK arrives at 8.50 in the morning and the next long distance departure is 5.20pm to NRT or 6.25pm to PEK. Of course, there is an earlier flight to JFK at 2.15pm but this may raise some eyebrows since you just arrived from JFK... And if the next flight is at 5.20 then what are the odds of them checking you in 8 hours earlier?
