I have a first/bus flight IAH-DETROIT-HKG and am lead to believe that I can only check 2 (up to 70 lb) bags per traveler (my wife and I). As we are relocating to HKG for 18 months we have more than that.... Likely 3 each will do it, but they want 200$ each for them. Amazing.

I get 3 on any flight on CO, but am Pres Plat/GS on CO/UA. I have dropped to "peasant" on Delta but have about 100k miles stored away due to past KLM activity.

Any advice or suggestions? Thanks a bunch....
