Belive the answer is no (but AMEX Rewards is not my area of knowledge)

Do you have enough miles to just transfer your AMEX miles to CO (or UA) and book them directly for the other people?

If you need the miles in the other peoples account, can you split it up so they purchase the ticket for one way and you purchase the return trip from your account? Or is this just an oneway trip?
