OP: IF you booked the flight on delta.com, you should be able to log in, click on "My Trips," and your itinerary should come up with a "There has been a change to your itinerary" type message and ability to check alternate flights for no charge if you're not happy with DL's change--this should give you the other non-stop options that you can switch to for no charge. Easier than calling most of the time.
