14,000 points is two weeks in a two bedroom unit during peak season at most resorts. The amount you were quoted is excessive. If you purchased this recently you have the right to rescind. Do so. 14,000 points can be had at the Las Vegas Strip for less than $26,000 or at the Bay Club in Hawaii for less than $6,000.

Yes, you will own it forever, and you will have fees forever. Best case, your fees for those two weeks will be about $1,590 per year and could be as high as $2520 per year. Those fees exist every year whether your loan is paid for or not.
Timeshare ownership can be very rewarding if purchased for a reasonable amount with all fees disclosed. I own three weeks and over 14,000 points along with a fixed ski week and extract great value out of my ownership. Seeing the number you provided, it is difficult to see how you could possibly extract enough value to justify the price being paid.
Research resales and stay away from timeshare salespeople. They lie.
