Well, it seems the most direct route would be to take one of the many American Eagle flights to DFW, then AA66 to LHR and BA107 to DXB. About 24 hours total travel time and you get in late so you can get a night's sleep. You could cut a few hours off the total duration by taking AA50 to LGW and shuttling between LGW and LHR.

For really exotic, you could do a RTW something like SHV-DFW-LHR-DXB-HKG-LAX-DFW-SHV. Lot's more miles and time but probably lower in cost than a regular RT SHV-DXB-SHV.
