I was supposed to be on SQ21 all-business class flight from Newark (New York) to Singapore on 23rd August. Got the usual sms to check-in but shortly after that, received a call that the flight was cancelled with no reason given. When I did a dummy booking for that flight on the website, I found that there were only a handful of seats taken (the same as the outward flight to Newark about 20 days ago). I suspect that the flight was cancelled due to low bookings.
Is this very common?
I find this alarming because if I had made onward travel arrangements, then it will be very chaotic to sort things out.
This is an all-business class flight. It means premium passengers are being inconvenienced. I myself had been a PPS member for a number of years.
Anyone knows what is going on with SIA?
