I'm not sure how widely it's being discussed as I'm an avid reader of this forum and click on the Amex forum every once in a while and can't recall seeing a claim of this sort. Even today, I'm skimming the Amex forum and have gotten to to page 3 and don't see anything saying AA will be terminating their relationship with Amex.
Hmmm... you must not be following quite that closely.

Additionally, it's been discussed tangentially in a few other Amex forum threads, but isn't reflected in the thread titles. It's also been discussed, again tangentially, in some threads in the AA forum.
Finally, I'm too lazy to actually go look right now, but I think it's been discussed, at least a little bit, in this very thread.
As an Amex Platinum cardholder, count me in the "concerned" camp at this point; have a bad feeling about this...
