Was-mad()bcn-[cdg]-was
I'm thinking of flying WAS-MAD in biz. I'm trying to figure out which planes have the new lie-flat seats, doesn't seem to be a thread on that. I'll spend a few days in Madrid.
Then I'll take the AVE train Madrid-Barcelona and spend a few days there.
Then continue my DL flight (in coach) BCN-PAR, and spend a few days in Paris.
Finally, CDG-IAD in coach.
It seems either DL or AF are the airlines available for this itin. I'm unsure which is best over water, i.e., seats (esp. lie flat on the eastbound, I like to sleep), meals are not real important on the east bound since I tend to go to sleep shortly after takeoff. Meals on the return (in coach) are more important, but I should be fully stuffed after a few days in Paris. The coach seats on return do matter and if it's possible to UG an award tik (but without using miles) I might try that. But if pitch is noticeably better in one airline I'd prefer that (I'm 6'3" just enough to make 32" pitch a close call)
That's the plan, probably September or October. I only have a bit over 80K miles so no options for anything more than low level biz-coach tix.
