Marriott Tyson's Corner update:

(1) They upgraded me! ^ Nice large two-room suite with a dining room table and sitting area. Sort of surprised since I assume this place is full of Plats with so many consulting firms' offices within 2 miles.

(2) I opened my door this morning and gasped. A real live newspaper was sitting outside my door, just like they used to do in Marriotts of yesteryear. I picked it up and read a few pages...it was a nostalgic pleasure. I wasn't aware that any Marriotts still did this (actually placed them outside each room's door).

(3) Amenity was normal: 1/2 bottle of Meridien, brie, and crackers.

(4) They told me parking was included with my rate. We'll see... The system is easy enough to use - just swipe your room key. Doesn't seem like it'd be a popular place to ditch a car to ride the Metro...unless that new Metro stop is going to be closer than it appears from the construction. (I can't honestly tell where exactly it'll be.)

(5) Normal lounge offering. Well-stocked, clean. Wasn't overly crowded.

(6) Nice indoor pool, hot tub, and workout area. The gym isn't huge but there seem to be enough machines in there.
