It seems that quite a few people want a Centurion card just for the ego boost and not for the presumptive benefits, if any (but that's a "whole 'nuther" topic) and not by qualifying on their own.
Rather than becomming an AU on someone's Cent, which carries some risk for the card owner, there is another option. Get a "regualr" AMEX card. Any card, even a Costco blue. Then go to a local fab shop and have them make a card that looks just like a Cent. It could be made out of plastic, titanium, carbon fibre or the the skull bone of the most endangered animal in the world; whatever feels good. It can be made to look as close to an actual Cent card as a person's conscience and applicable copyright law will allow. Transfer the account number and mag strip info from the other card to this new one and, presto, you have an AMEX "Centurian" [sic] card. Because the account number is real, it'll work just fine. And, as long as you don't use it to take advantage of any Cent benefit you may or may not be committing any
criminal fraud. A discerning person may notice that the account number doesn't correspond to a real Cent account, but not many can tell this just by looking at the first few digits of the account number.
But doing this would be morally and probably legally wrong.
Oh yeah, in case anyone doesn't get it, I'm being sarcastic.
