Just to prove that we are all different, I'm the exact opposite. I'd rather have BE eastbound so I can get a great sleep and arrive alert and good to tackle the day in Europe. I don't mind Y westbound since I typically stay awake the entire flight home.

And to the OP's question, I have done it on award ticket before...and will do it again on an award ticket tomorrow.
