I called Amtrak and got 3 answers from the same agent.

1 station hours (24 Hours)
2 ticketing hours (510 AM to 945 PM)
3 baggage hours (515 am to 1000pm)

Pulling up the station info on Amtrak yields the following information;

"Help with baggage during station hours"

I will be arriving in by car at about 500 AM with my wife who is disabled. I cannot look after her and the luggage.
I rather give the luggage to be checked to a stranger than to give my wife to one

What train are you taking? Most Amtrak trains do not offer checked luggage anymore, but some do. On the others, the luggage goes with you and the Red Cap will stow the luggage for you. But, it's not a question of checking the luggage and being done with it.
