The U2 website explicitly states that for domestic flights the passport can be up to 2 years expired.
U2 (EZY, for the uninitiated - I've long wondered if it was a random allocation or if Stelios was a fan?) allow photo driving licences for domestics as well. FR, on the other hand, do not.
