I certainly can't fault the OP for being extremely upset. We are planning a vacation to Hawaii and I have been told to avoid this property. That is a shame since I was going to use points. We are going to pay for a non-Starwood property instead.
They should have reversed all the points the OP used. I can't understand why they would not do that. Also, the OP should not have given his points away. He could transfer them to miles quite easily. That seems like an emotional response. I don't blame him again for being unhappy.
