Hi there. I'm Geoff Lewis, the CEO of Topguest. We are grateful for the support of the FlyerTalk community. However, there has also been some misuse of our service among this community. I look forward to participating in this thread going forward to ensure there is no more confusion going forward about acceptable use of our service.

The spirit of Topguest is to reward you for actually visiting Topguest partner locations, and sharing your presence at Topguest partner locations with your friends. In the Topguest enrollment process, we clearly state that you must actually be at the Topguest location (not driving by, not checking in from a few miles or few hundred meters away - but physically *at* the location) to use Topguest in a manner that is consistent with our fair use policy. The Topguest website also explains that Topguest exists to reward you for "Sharing your location with friends." Hence, one can reasonably assume that creating a private Foursquare or Facebook account expressly for the purpose of checking in to get points would not be in keeping with our fair use policy.

We reserve the right to suspend user accounts at our discretion any reason, including for using Topguest in a manner that is not in the spirit of the service or not in accordance with our fair use policy. To be even more clear, some examples of Topguest use that are not consistent with the spirit of our service include:
- "Drive by" check-ins
- "Walk by" check-ins
- Creating a private foursquare account with no friends, and privately checking into multiple Topguest partner properties each day

We have many thousands of weekly active users who utilize Topguest in accordance with our fair use policy, and enjoy the benefits of our service in the way we intended. We hope that we can count all FlyerTalk members among these users in the future.
