The Ritz is nice. We like to take advantage of their weekend rates and enjoy the attached shopping mall. If you have an early flight from IAD you might want to consider the Marriott Suites. We often stay here the night before a vacation.

If this is not coming out of your pocket and your flight is not early I would pick the Ritz. You will still get the night credit and points as your Plat arrival gift.
