The BA search engine is not always good about finding AA award seats, particularly when connections are involved. The rule of thumb is that if you can find AA MileSAAver award seats on aa.com, you should be able to secure those seats with BA miles. If the AA seats do not show up on ba.com, then a call to the BAEC Service Center would be in order.

From SDF, there should be single-connection options to CDG via ORD, DFW, and MIA, enabling you to avoid a London transit. (Or did you want the free London stopover that BA offers?)
