I never stayed at Marriot properties all that much until this year so I never bothered to learn much about the program. Looks like Gold is now a no-brainer and well worth-while.
If I recall correctly, both the bonus points and the EQNs post on the closing date of the statement with your first charge on it. You also earn another EQN for each $3000 you charge to the card.
