Completely agree with uk1. Winchester is indeed lovely. Spent a very happy 2 nights there when the HI was on PBs. Still not sure I'd choose green as nightlight colour though - made me feel sick, and I was sober....

IIRC there's a bus stop right outside the hotel too that takes you into town, and there's plenty of parking in town (albeit in paid car parks)
