QF do not have any 3-class flights between MEL-PER nor PER-SYD, so those legs will be in J (D). I don't know how AA measure the Q points, but it may not be as many in J (D) as in F (A). But appart from going to/from NZ, there is not much choice in F within the South Pacific.
