Generally, you cannot "upgrade" a card during the first 12 months. At some point you will receive a bonus offer to upgrade, but it will not be the same number of points as offered if you apply for a new account.

Do any people find keeping both Gold and Plat. beneficial? I know Gold has the 3X air travel, but not sure if it has any other benefits that seem superior to Plat.
