Yes -- the cmbined EQM from both programs during CY 2011 is what will be used to determine status in the new program during CY 2012.
I can make 1MM on United this year when combined with CO lifetime. Would I get 1P for life?

OR are they not combining lifetime miles until the NEW program goes into effect, which I am afraid is what they will do.

If they did combine for 2011, then which program do you qualify under? I would hope it would be the one you have designated to earn your benefits (SWUs, etc...).
Nothing has been announced. Presumably the combined mileage amounts in the old program will be combined for the new program. What formula is used and what you will be given remains to be announced. I wouldn't expect to see any such combination until the actual merge of the programs.
I have a question into 1Kvoice on this and will see what they say and report back.

If they don't count combined miles this year then I will be 60K short on UA and as a result only get 2P for life which REALLY stinks. (I really dont think I can put in 60K of mileage runs in the last 3 months of the year).

I can guarantee you I will NOT be going for 2MM to get 1P, it took me too long to get this far and be cut short at the end.
How do you know you will "...only get 2P for life..."?? Nothing has been announced. The rumors posted here are just that. I'd suggest you not put too much stck in them.
