I think I read about someone calling in to get their PR Gold upgraded to Plat without having to resubmit an application. Has anyone gotten a Plat bonus in addition to the PR Gold bonus doing it this way?

Also, is it worth the annual fees to keep both a Gold and Plat? I know there are different MR earnings. I have an authorized user that I am assuming could keep a Gold.
