-1. What makes AAdvantage great relative to its peers is that EXPs have sky high upgrade rates and that lower elites still have good upgrade rates. It is a fair system. If you start letting EXPs upgrade their families with $30 E500s, that would have a direct impact on upgrade rates for lower elites and other EXPs even. I believe that as an EXP, you have earned privileges, but your non-status spouse or kids haven't earned diddly so why should they fly in F before another flyer with platinum status for example?
