Visit Europe Pass

Looking at FewMiles site I see that a Visit Europe pass can be used in conjunction with a oneworld ticket. I'm assuming it's possible to combine a OWExplorer RTW and a Visit Europe ticket. The USD80 cost of Domestic flights is highly attractive for me.

The only other problem I can see is the "residency" qualification.

31N ELIGIBILITY 1. ONLY AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF THE
32N . COUNTRY OF SALE IN CONJUNCTION WITH RT
33N . TRAVEL TO EUROPE ON SCHEDULED SERVICES.
34N . PROOF OF RESIDENCE MAY BE REQUIRED AT
35N . TIME OF TICKET PURCHASE OR AT CHECK-IN.

36N . 2. VALID ONLY FOR SALES OUTSIDE EUROPE
I will have no problem getting my South African TA to issue the ticket and linking it to my OWE (if the ruless allow) but I may come unstuck if the check-in people ask for proof of South African residency. Has anyone had problems with this in the past? Getting a SA address would not be too hard as I'm sure one of my SA colleagues will oblige but I'm not sure how "official" an ID would be required.
