On my last transit, I arrived 2D (jetway, not even a bus!) and departed 2E (the further half). I walked from 2D to 2E, spent some quality time waiting to clear emigration, walked some more, waited for the train, went up a gigantic escalator, cleared security, stopped for the restroom since I'd been in transit so long, walked to the gate and got there just as boarding started. I had 1:20 between flights.
Sure, if you want to be pedantic, not literally an hour of walking.
I knew what I was getting into having been through the airport before, and specifically chose this routing to get on the A380, but in general would prefer AMS to CDG if it weren't for the WBIs on US bound flights (for SkyTeam itineraries).
