We are already using two segments for SYD-PER-SYD (we originate in JNB, so two transcons permitted) so don't want to pay for more unnecessarily. The other problem with going via BNE is that on the return we cannot get a same day connection to LAX. The HTI-SYD flight connects nicely with the second SYD-LAX flight.
I'm all booked and ticketed now so thainks for the advice. Chartering a yachet from Hamilton Island to spend a week sailing around the Whitsunday's.
