I also dislike how those A340s (and Airbus aircraft in general) make all sorts of weird noises....creaking, groaning, grinding of mechanical things, especially during critical phases of flight (takeoff/landing). Boeing aircraft never seem to make those sounds.
I love the A340, although it helps to be in F on LH. Plus it's not like OP is flying AF.
