- I may disagree if you consider HHonors and SPG properties overseas. I just checked out Westin Frankfurt and checked-in to Frankfurt Hilton. As an SPG Plt no upgrade in Westin. Staying with a child - pay 35 Euro for an extra bed (denied). Breakfast is in the lounge only. Limited offerings in the lounge and miserable cook-to-order omelet vs. e.g., any Hilton Garden Inn in USA. Comment from my 14 year old son: his omelet came without ingredients ordered, and ingredients were terrible anyway. From my experience, the wines are undrinkable. No liqueurs or whiskeys. Sparkling is an acceptable German. No gift in a room, no turn down service without request, no morning newspaper.
Checking in Hilton - an extra bed should be in the room at no charge, of course. Why don't you take your breakfast in the restaurant - it is much better (at no charge; otherwise 31 Euro for each of the 3 persons staying). In the lounge: spumante is from Italy. Red is drinkable. Liqueurs and whiskeys are available all evening long. Hot food in the lounge is gone 5 min before the lounge closes - no problem, we will order from the restaurant at no charge. Sorry that you have to wait for 10 min. Personalized gift in the room. Fantastic fitness center and swimming pool.
Finally, no SPG promotion this month and I re-qualified for PLT already. I think I will put my efforts to get 6 more stays to Diamond this year.
