Yes I've seen this before actually. Although someone was asleep in a chair half way along. I assumed the sleepy soul was a tired guard not doing his job. Maybe just a tired passenger.
Glad to hear BA is aware of the potential loophole here and will take steps to ensure non-eligible passengers don't sneak in!!
