No, sorry I wasn't clear - you don't get your ticket refunded, you get the extra you paid for the preferred seat refunded if you contact them (e.g. if you are travelling to Asia, and paid $100 for the bulkhead seat, you could ask for the $100 back if there was an aircraft change, operational need for you to move etc).
