And it is fairly easy to keep status without flying for work. If you got LH Sen in the recent match, for eg, you are OK for lounge access on M&M airlines until Feb 2015. OW status is also possible with a Eurocheat and 5 CE weekends away per year, or via matches. Malev did one recently, there is the free CX status via Amex Plat etc.

I did the LH match in 2005 which got me status until 2009, then the Hong Kong match which got me 2 years of Asiana status, and now back with LH until Feb 2015!
