So, to make up for that you had to dump the water at the gate for US bound flights. On the Israeli side, you don't need to throw away your liquids, remove your belt, or your shoes. It's not security but GAs of US-bound flights (except for LY) that ask you to throw away all liquids, even stuff purchased in duty-free. Practically, they don't check; they just ask. So as long as it's in your bag, you're good to go.
