Is a 48 hour wait period to confirm an itinerary change on an award ticket typical?
I've done a search and couldn't find a relevant thread, so...
For an F award reservation for next year (actually 2 F seats using the Chase Visa 2-4-1, FWIW), I'd like to change the originating city from the one I first booked, now that my preferred point of origination shows availability. The CSR told me that she has to send it to another department (Ticketing, I believe) and that I should call back in 48 hours to finalize. Perhaps it's just that any fees need to be recalculated. But regardless, is this typical practice?
If it is typical, I'm not complaining. And she sounds like she knows what she's doing. But I just wanted to double-check here.
