Welcome to flyertalk by the way. I must admit it is tempting to make a joke about Canada collecting cash on departure and my earlier comment that "in all developed countries ... you will pay the tax before hand and that tax will be included in your ticket". However that may start a flame war so I will make no such joke.
I also have wondered many times about taxes collected on tickets versus taxes at the airport. I paid a 35USD tax on my ticket for Lima but was then required to pay another 25USD tax in cash at the airport. Does anyone have a link or can post a list of what those 2 letter tax codes on tickets actually stand for?? I remember a post a while back having this, but I could not find that post via Search.
