I can vouch for the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong as well, awesome staff, great food, decent pool and still has that "almost new" smell ;-)

There is also a Courtyard around the corner, much quieter area - but I wouldn't recommend it, too many kids and tour groups there, crowded restaurant, etc. the last two times I stayed there - (And why I don't go back).
