That is exactly what a lot of folks here are saying.
And I suspect Hyatt could care less about those very folks -- in fact, to Mary2e's point, they'll probably be more profitable without them.
Gold Passport will only do a FFN-like promotion if they feel they need to in order to hit their numbers. It won't be because they're worried about losing those who only re-qualify for Diamond because of it.
