I fdon't think that you will find much flexiblity in terms of letting you start your trip at JFK without a significant upcharge. The fare you paid was an ex-Canada fare-- if you can do it, I think the best thing to do is try to reschedule your YYZ-JFK-EZE flights and then get back on track with your original itinerary.
