Or the ban in public parks. I still see people smoking away on the Hudson Piers and at times at the Park at Bleeker/Hudson/8th, although the latter is mostly populated by locals that will usually tell a smoker to snuff it out.
Watch out as the smoker could then try to throw his/her cigarette AT YOU in disgust for being "obnoxious" and then miss you and nearly burn a child with that discarded burning cigarette.
