Yes, I successfully changed my reward but called back when I didn't see the change reflected on my account. They told me that they handle it manually when the promotion is changed from what was originally offered. I suggested that they just give Plats the different options online and let each member choose. This would save the the operators a lot of work. The guy on the Plat line agreed with me.
I changed options on the last MegaBonus and that is how it worked. The original offer showed in my account through out the offer period, but, in the end, the option I had requested is what got posted.
I agree about being able to choose online. You would think it would be much more cost effective for Marriott than paying someone to keep tabs on it for you.
