I know they dont and some dont serve any real meal either any longer.

that said as more and more Carriers are holding off Upgrading till T-24 and closer to T-3 no special meals can be ordered since 1 must do so at least 24 hrs before flight time, and yes I was told Sorry a couple times when I got a tkt that was T-23 as its computer generated and thusly SOL

also a number of the UPs are going to those paying very high coach fares so the Carrier will more then offset that meals cost as they UP at time of purchase due to a Y fare
