I had never heard any CO FA would say that to me for any domestic F service. At least for UA, I have occasionally heard "Mr. xxx, we have eggs dish or the fruit plate for breakfast this morning, what would you like to eat ?"
And even for snack basket service for LAX-SFO, I had UA FA say my name everytime he asked me a question, and also thank you for my business when I leave the plane.
Bottom line, you can't just use a one off experience to judge how an airline perform in general.
