Im in Singapore now and usually jump on SQ SIN-DME-IAH. Just adding the Perth segment would work for me but the price is three times as much just to add a five and a half hour segment. I will defect if I have to.
I know that UA is supposed to start a nonstop IAH-AKL sometime this year. That might help.
