Want to get family to to HNL all on same flight for minimal dollars.

It seems possible that by timing things right one could use a companion fare just before it expires and then use the new companion fare that is awarded annually, to purchase more fares on the same flight (assuming seats still available).

The companion fare rules state:

Who can use my Companion Ticket Discount Code?

The Mileage Plan member who owns the Companion Ticket Discount Code must either be one of the travelers or the purchaser of the reservation. If the member is allowing two travelers to use his or her Companion Ticket Discount Code, then the member's name must match the name on the credit card used to purchase the reservation.

Can I (a) purchase 2 tickets for self and companion using one companion fare, and then in a separate reservation (b) purchase 2 tickets for two other family members, using another companion fare, with me (the member) paying for both reservations with my credit card?
