Camra listing (Campaign for real ale) I find the best recommendation for a pub, excellent beer, usually very traditional, and if there is food it is normally of the simple home cooked variety. One last week near my hotel had a great selection of beer and the food consisted of a choice of 6 home made meat pies (rabbit, lamb and port etc) with proper home made chips - not a Chicken Tikka Massala, or microwave lasagne in site.
