In any event, if you do have the companion deal it does let you go farther, but be aware that to use it you'd then have to go through London on BA, which incurs substantial taxes/fees. In the alternative, you could cash in the miles on AA for some nice spots in Mexico or the Caribbean.
No, I don't have a companion ticket, so I'm limited to 50K miles per person. That's why I'm guessing I won't be able to fly first/business (since the minimum number of miles I saw when searching for various vacation spots was 80K, I think).
