Pub Food isn't the ideal place for cheap tasty good food. These days it is almost universally bad, mass produced, frozen, pre-packed, microwaved rubbish. You can usually predict what will be on the menu from one pub to the next. The fewer items on the menu the better.

Don't expect to get a good pint of "beer" in a hotel. yes you'll get lager but for a decent draught traditional beer - leave the hotel.
